Ethanol Drying with Molecular Sieves
SEPCOR ethanol grade molecular sieve 3A can dry ethanol down to the ppm level in your ethanol application. Ethanol is produced either by fermentation or synthesis. During the production of ethanol, it will pick up water which needs to be separated out. Bulk water can be flashed off but the remainder of the ethanol needs to be dehydrated to very low water levels with 3A molecular sieves typically in a Pressure Swing Adsorption(PSA) process.
Dehydration of ethanol (93-96 % v/v) purity using the Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) process yields both economic and environmental advantages in energy savings.
High Mechanical Strength and Attrition Resistance; Outstanding Adsorption Kinetics; Negligible Ethanol Co-Adsorption; Minimized By-Product Formation
